Local Food Initiatives

Oldham Council is keen to get people’s views on local food.

Saving on food costs whilst cutting carbon emissions by sourcing food locally is becoming an increasingly popular way for people to save money and support local businesses at the same time. Oldham Council is looking at how it could support the promotion of local food , through the production of a local food directory.

Directories in other parts of the country are becoming a popular way of supporting local food producers and highlighting ways people can sample and buy locally grown and produced food. Oldham Council has some ideas for a directory but would also like your views. To help gather this information a short questionnaire has been produced for local community organisations and interested members of the public to fill in.
