South Pennines Walk & Ride Festival 2017
This year’s South Pennines Walk & Ride Festival took place between Saturday 10th September and Sunday 25th September. Hopefully you attended some of the many events across the South Pennines and we hope to welcome festival regulars back in 2017. We will be updating the dedicated Festival website early in the New Year. For more information please go to the dedicated Festival website or sign up to the Walk and Ride Festival Newsletter to get advance news of events.
We will be starting to identify events for the 2017 Festival (provisional dates 9th-24th September 2017) and assembling the new programme. If you have an event in mind please contact Adele Adams for more information.
We will work with the leaders of the events in the New Year to build up details on the festival website.
If you would like to visit the South Pennines before the festival please have a look at the amazing range of routes for the walker, cyclist and rider on our Walk and Ride website at www.walkridesouthpennines.co.uk.
New donation scheme to support Pennine National Trails
Walkers, cyclists and horse riders are being given the chance to contribute to the upkeep of the spectacular Pennine Way and Pennine Bridleway.
A new donation scheme has been set up to raise much-needed cash for the maintenance of the two popular routes through the north of England and of the other 13 National Trails in the country.
The donation scheme allows people to give as much as they want directly to their chosen National Trail simply by visiting the relevant trail pages on the National website at www.nationaltrail.co.uk and clicking the ‘donate’ button.
All donations received will be used to support the chosen trail, with 80 per cent of the money going to fund improvement work and the remainder going towards the cost of providing the website, which is not publicly funded.
