Local businesses are being asked to identify the area’s unique qualities by a new project working in the South Pennines.
The South Pennines local distinctiveness project, managed by rural regeneration company Pennine Prospects, is holding a marketing meeting to look at what makes Slaithwaite, Marsden and Holmfirth special and different.
“What are the most important aspects of the area? Which bits should we be trying to promote? What does this area offer that’s different?” asked Rebecca Yorke, project coordinator. To find the answers to these questions local businesses are being invited to an event at the Handmade Brewery, Slaithwaite, at 1.30pm on Tuesday, April 24.
This is just the first stage in the South Pennine LEADER-funded project, which is designed to benefit tourism, hospitality and creative businesses across the area. All attendees will receive a free copy of the Local Distinctiveness Handbook, which is packed full of ideas for local business marketing.
