LEADER. Canal Connections project takes another step forward

Oldham Huddersfield Canal

Working in partnership with The Waterways Trust, Pennine Prospects have engaged Imagemakers to help us define a vision for the Rochdale Canal. The aim is for the Canal to become ‘the most exciting, intriguing and innovative canal experience in Britain’. This could be achieved through a combination of high quality onsite physical interpretive interventions, the effective use of a range of offsite communication tools and the ongoing engagement and empowerment of the communities that live alongside its banks. The end result will celebrate, reveal and explore the fascinating heritage of this significant community asset.

Imagemakers have so far, following a number of consultation days and workshops with local people interested in the Canal, produced a darft interpretation plan and associated documents. These can be viewed through the following links;
