Pennine Prospects is looking for an exceptional person to deliver the South Pennines LEADER programme:

South Pennines LEADER Programme Coordinator (£25,500 per annum for 30hours worked over 4 days per week)

Pennine Prospects is a unique rural regeneration company created in 2005 as a champion for the South Pennines, the dramatic upland landscape that stands prominently above the urban centres of Greater Manchester, the Lancashire valleys and West Yorkshire.

It is an award-winning partnership organisation that has secured national and European funding to deliver a wide range of projects aimed at promoting, protecting and enhancing the built, natural and cultural heritage of the South Pennines.

You will be part of a dynamic LEADER Team working within Pennine Prospects. LEADER is a European funded grants programme helping farmers, foresters, small rural businesses and rural communities to grow the rural economy and create jobs. Funding decisions are made by the South Pennine Local Action Group (LAG) of public, private and community sector members.

The South Pennines LEADER Programme has been awarded a budget of approximately £1.3m and will operate until September 2019 with the possibility for extension.

The Programme Coordinator will lead on project development, promote funding opportunities and guide/advise applicants through the process. Other responsibilities will include providing secretariat to the South Pennines LAG, appraisal of grant applications and the monitoring and evaluation of the project outcomes.

This post will involve working closely with a wide range of rural businesses and communities across The South Pennine LEADER area, as well as liaison with partner organisations including local authorities and communities, Pennine Prospects member organisations and Local Enterprise Partnerships.

Excellent communication skills, a good eye for detail and experience of business support and/or economic development, preferably in a rural environment are essential.
