Canal Connections project takes another step forward

Posted: Friday July 9, 2010

Working in partnership with The Waterways Trust, Pennine Prospects have engaged Imagemakers to help us define a vision for the Rochdale Canal. The aim is for the Canal to become ‘the most exciting, intriguing and innovative canal experience in Britain’. This could be achieved through a combination of high quality onsite physical interpretive interventions, the effective use of a range of offsite communication tools and the ongoing engagement and empowerment of the
communities that live alongside its banks. The end result will celebrate, reveal and
explore the fascinating heritage of this significant community asset.

Imagemakers have so far, following a number of consultation days and workshops with local people interested in the Canal, produced a Concept Note which you can view here. They have taken these concepts a step further now and produced the visuals which you can see below. These visuals were part of an exhibition held on Fielden Wharf on Thursday 8th July. If you missed this exhibition and want to let the designers have your comments about the concepts or the visuals please have a look and then contact James Cokeham using the following email address : james@imagemakers.uk.com
