LEADER. South Pennines Leader 2008-2013
The South Pennines LEADER Local Action Group has now allocated all of its £2.4M to projects across the South Pennines. The fund is therefore now closed to new applications.
There are some really outstanding projects in the LEADER programme and much has, and will, be achieved as projects progress to their conclusion in December 2013.

What is Leader?
LEADER is a community-led approach to rural development, focusing on basic services for communities, culture and heritage, village development, and renewal. It brings together those people who have an interest in encouraging and supporting rural development. If you would like to find out more about the LEADER approach, we recommend that you read The LEADER Approach – A Basic Guide, a useful European Commission booklet.
The funding for LEADER is being made available through the Rural Development Programme for England., which is jointly funded by Defra and the European Union, and is administered by Pennine Prospects in the South Pennines.
