Area Manager, Natural England
Jeff Lunn is Area Manager for Natural England, based in Wakefield and covering the southern half of its Yorkshire & Humber region.
He has been professionally involved in the environment and wildlife conservation for over 30 years through a career with the RSPB, Yorkshire Water Authority, the Nature Conservancy Council, English Nature and now Natural England, working in Scotland, Wales and throughout England. He is a Trustee of four environmental trusts and is a Chartered Environmentalist and founder Member of the Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (MIEEM).
Married with two sons and a daughter, the task of balancing family life, work and personal interests has always been a challenge for Jeff. ‘Wildlife has always been an inspiration for me’, he says, ‘I vividly remember as a boy travelling to Spurn on a trip one misty November day and seeing skein after skein of noisy Pinkfooted geese spiralling down onto the fields around Goole, and then the vast mudflats and clouds of wading birds over the Humber. I was hooked.’
His driving passion is to achieve a world class environment for the wildlife and people of Yorkshire & the Humber.
